My garage door opener is beeping

MyQThe Newer Premium LiftMaster and Chamberlain garage door openers feature an internal battery backup that will operate the garage door opener in case of a power outage. The garage door opener will emit a beeping sound when it is operating off of battery power or when the battery is no longer able to recharge. A fully charged battery will provide power to the garage door opener for 1 to 2 days of normal operation when power is lost, and when power is restored it will recharge within 48 hours. While the garage door opener is operating using battery backup power the light bulbs will not turn on to conserve battery power.

LED DIAGNOSTICS

Garage door openers that are equipped with a battery backup will have a LED diagnostic to indicate current battery status.

Red LED indicates:

The battery has drained and is unable to recharge. The Garage Door Opener battery will need to be replaced.

  • If a red LED remains on and is accompanied by a beep sounding every 30 seconds when power is        not interrupted the battery can no longer recharge.

Orange LED indicates:

The garage door opener has lost power and is operating off battery power.

  • A solid orange LED, with a beep sounding approximately every 2 seconds, indicates the garage             door opener is activating the door and is operating using battery power.
  • A flashing orange LED, with a beep sounding every 30 seconds, indicates battery power is low.
  • Once power is restored the battery will recharge. The LED will change to a flashing green.

Green LED indicates:

The garage door opener is NOT running off battery power.

  • A solid green LED indicates the battery is fully charged.
  • A flashing green LED indicates the battery is being charged.
